Steps for patch:

1. Install Remus following the instructions on the Remus website ([http://nss.cs.ubc.ca/remus/ http://nss.cs.ubc.ca/remus/]).

2. Apply xen-tools.patch in the tar ball to xen-unstable directory.

3. Apply python-tools.patch in the tar ball to Remus's tools directory.

Compilation steps:

1. Recompile and install tools (make tools; make install-tools) in xen-unstable directory.

2. Compile and install Remus tools.

Test steps:

1. Install kernel module (in backup-kernel directory of python-tools.patch) on the backup machine.

2. Run "protect -i interval -n netbuf_interval vm1 backup_ip_address" to protect the virtual machine.
